Maria Jose Molina Sanchez O'Dell (MJ) was born and raised in Mexico City and immigrated to San Diego, California, in 2020.
She holds a Master’s in Peace and Justice from the University of San Diego’s Joan B. Kroc School of Peace Studies, and she earned her law degree from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).
Maria Jose brings a unique blend of legal expertise, restorative practices, and community engagement to her work.
She has experience across government, education, and nonprofit sectors, supporting systems change through trauma-informed and culturally responsive approaches. A natural collaborator and team player, she thrives in inclusive environments where people work together to make a meaningful impact. Outside of work, Maria Jose loves spending time with her family, staying active through sports, reading, listening to podcasts, and exploring new places. She has a deep sense of curiosity and a love for learning, always eager to expand her perspective and connect with others along the way.
