Dr. Eric Hong
Consultant Cardiology
Dr. Eric Hong is a premier cardiologist in San Diego, voted by his peers as ‘Top Doctor” for the last five years.
He received his undergraduate degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He then took a year off to do the Americorps program in Westside Chicago, linking clients to primary health care and social services. Dr. Hong went to University of Pittsburgh for medical School and UCLA Medical Center for internal medicine residency. He did his cardiology fellowship at Drexel/Hahnemann in Philadelphia. Dr. Hong returned to his native Southern California in 2013 where he remains in private practice.
Dr. Hong is board certified in cardiology, echocardiography, nuclear medicine, vascular imaging, and cardiac CT. He has been a member of the American College of Cardiology since graduating fellowship. He has a hybrid private practice/concierge program attentively managing all his patients. He treats coronary artery disease, atrial fibrillation, and congestive heart failure among other pathologies in his outpatient practice. His office has a laboratory for echocardiography, vascular imaging, and nuclear imaging. His inpatient practice involves managing most commonly acute coronary syndrome, atrial fibrillation, and congestive heart failure and he does procedures including transesophageal echocardiography, diagnostic cardiac catheterization, and pericardiocentesis.
Dr. Hong is a compassionate, kind physician who always takes time to listen to his patients. He enjoys spending time with his wife, two daughters, and parents as well playing golf. He loves San Diego and plans to be part of the community for his entire career.
