Ruhi Rakholia

DOC Program Pre-Medical Student Intern

Ruhi Rakholia is a DOC Program Pre-Medical Student Intern at Alliance Medical Group and a first-year Cognitive Science student at the University of California, Irvine, where she is pursuing a Bachelor of Science with aspirations of becoming a physician. Passionate about neuroscience, community health, and patient-centered medicine, Ruhi is committed to expanding her clinical knowledge while developing the skills necessary to become a compassionate and well-rounded healthcare professional.

Before joining UC Irvine, Ruhi gained valuable healthcare experience as a Pharmacy Clerk at Alvarado Community Pharmacy, where she supported pharmacy operations, assisted patients, managed prescription records, and contributed to the efficient delivery of care in a fast-paced clinical environment. This early exposure to healthcare strengthened her appreciation for patient interaction and introduced her to the essential role of teamwork within medicine.

At UC Irvine, Ruhi serves as the Outreach Lead Co-Chair for Project RISHI, an international public health organization dedicated to improving healthcare access in underserved communities. In this leadership role, she coordinates community outreach initiatives, organizes stem cell donor registration drives in partnership with the National Marrow Donor Program, and collaborates with a partner village in Saladi, Gujarat, to better understand local healthcare needs. She also serves as a Center for the Neurobiology of Learning and Memory (CNLM) Ambassador, where she helps inspire curiosity in neuroscience by leading educational outreach programs and engaging students through interactive learning experiences.

Ruhi's academic interests extend beyond the classroom. She completed the UC San Diego Summer Springboard Program in Psychology and Neuroscience, where she conducted and presented a capstone research project examining the relationship between climate and depression prevalence across the United States. Through these diverse experiences, she has developed strong leadership, communication, cultural competency, and organizational skills while reinforcing her commitment to service and lifelong learning.

Ruhi joined Alliance Medical Group through the DOC Program because of its dedication to physician mentorship, multidisciplinary education, and meaningful clinical exposure. She looks forward to shadowing physicians across multiple specialties, participating in clinical research opportunities, and learning how collaborative, patient-centered care improves outcomes. She is especially excited to explore neurology, orthopedics, pain management, and acupuncture while gaining firsthand insight into the practice of medicine.

Guided by her personal motto, "Progress over perfection," Ruhi approaches every opportunity with curiosity, resilience, and a genuine desire to learn. Alliance Medical Group is proud to welcome her as part of the DOC Program and looks forward to supporting her journey toward a future career in medicine.
