Ruth Victor is a rising senior at Howard University pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Biology on the Pre-Med Track. As a first-generation college student, Ruth is passionate about advancing health equity and plans to pursue a career as an OB-GYN, with a particular focus on improving maternal health outcomes and addressing healthcare disparities affecting underserved communities.

Her interest in medicine was inspired by witnessing the challenges faced by underprivileged populations, particularly Black women, who continue to experience disproportionately high maternal mortality rates. Driven by a commitment to service, advocacy, and lifelong learning, Ruth is dedicated to helping patients feel heard, respected, and supported throughout their healthcare journey.

At Alliance Medical Group, Ruth is excited to gain hands-on clinical experience while learning directly from experienced healthcare professionals. She values mentorship, collaboration, and opportunities to observe patient care in real-world settings. Her curiosity, thoughtful approach, and eagerness to learn make her a valuable addition to the Alliance team.

Known for being intentional, curious, and thoughtful, Ruth believes that every experience presents an opportunity for growth and meaningful contribution. She is particularly excited to build relationships with healthcare providers, expand her medical knowledge, and gain a deeper understanding of patient-centered care as she prepares for a future in medicine.

Outside of her academic and professional pursuits, Ruth enjoys dancing, playing volleyball, mentoring youth, and giving back to her community. Dance has served as a creative outlet that has helped her develop confidence, discipline, and teamwork skills. While she may be shy when first meeting new people, those who know her quickly discover her energetic personality and genuine enthusiasm for connecting with others. Ruth is a participant of Developing our Clinicians (DOC) Program at the Hosalkar Institute and Alliance Medical Group.
